English

English at university have been very useful and necessary, because to learn a language is important to develop a way of internationalism.I like this subject so much, because since I began I have learned a lot. But I think that the class began in an  exhausting hour, about 6 o clock and 6 thirty. Luckily this did not happen in the English IV course. Although that I have improved, I still must practice in the speaking and pronunciation, and then I must practice in daily conversation. The use of of blogs it was also useful because sometimes I had to write about subjects that i did not have an opinion before. Other people think that the best form of to learn a language is to travel a foreign country, such as my cousin; he learned English, because he was obliged to speak a foreign language. Actually a do not so much English outside class . I could to begin watching movies in English without subtitles, Another way to learn English is to listen English songs and read lyrics. When I was kid I did not care about English, now I think it and I say :´I must be more responsible in the English Subject ´ . Well, the think is ... I need to learn English quickly and one fast form is to travel to a country where the people speak English. If I decided to take this option, I have to define where I am going to travel and How much time I will spend in that country. My cousin said that he learned in about two years to speak English. I remember I was 16 years old I took an English course and I learned very much , the classes consist of talking in English, the teacher gave a CD and the CDs had only English conversations. Regrettably I had to leave the course, because after I had to organize my school studies, and then I had to make a decision.             

My future job

Hi , today I will talk about my future job ; now I am studying art at university of Chile and in my second year I took the mayor of goldsmith , I chose this option because I did not want to do something not traditional and interesting in art , but this area is so expensive. In the future .... actually I do not what to do, but maybe I would like to art class, In other words; I would like to have a job of art teacher . But would not like to do class in art faculty of university of Chile , because my experience in first year was not enjoyable with the teahers. In general , the first year in the universiy is very hard . In a job I would consider that my boss is friendly ; and if a interview of job I were asked about my strengths and my weakness … well I have to tell about my weakness and my strengths; I am absentminded, desorganized and a little messy. But my strengths are : I have a high self-esteem , I am responsible with my homework and housework. Is very hard to get a good as a teacher, because there are many teachers in Chile. Also I would like to get a workshop and to sell my works in a smallshop, It would be so fun . I do not like the museum, because is something so traditional and elitist ; but if I need it , I will take it

The world of job is very hard. I feel that there is a lot competition and sometimes your boss could be a jerk and irresponsible.

Environment

Hi, today I will talk about the environment; actually I am not very committed with the environment, but I believe that it’s an important subject. I have noticed that there is a lot of information on the internet about the environment. I don’t know many recycling ideas, but I try to turn off the light when I am not using them. I use the public transport and even my legs instead of a car, because not only is driving very expensive, it is not environmentally friendly as it makes Santiago have even more smog.

I have not joined any eco – organization, but I support and I agree with its ideas. The reason why I have not joined these organizations is because these groups end up bossing you around and I hate when people tell me what to do.

Well I have participated in the students movement, but in general, this does not have many relation with the environment. First, I want to finish my studies and after participate in social organizations, but actually I have not made up my mind yet on what theme, because there are many problems that must be resolve in Chile first. Unfortunately for me the environment is not my main priority.

I personally believe that the subject of the environment must be addressed more frequently in the mass media, such as TV and Radio, because Chileans in general do not read much. This subject is complicated; especially in Santiago of Chile, because this city is a basin which contributes even more to the formation of smog.   

Music

Hi, today I going to talk about music, this is important for me because without music I could not have decide my artistic vocation . Music was the beginning in my artistic task, I began to play guitar since I was ten years old; in a moment it was very difficult, because I did not have motivation and neither favourite kind of music. In other words I was studying guitar for obligation. When I was twelve years old I leave the guitar because I was a little frustrated, but after two years I return to play guitar. In that time I began to enjoy of metal music and that year I wanted to buy a electric guitar, but my parents did not want to do it . Anyway, I had to look for news styles and motivations in music. When I was 15 years, I began to listen others styles, mainly protest and poetic music . I began to listen Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes and Victor Jara and after I got to interpret a lot  their songs . This mark the beginning in my style of music and I got to learn a lot in this style and mainly in acoustic guitar. Also I began to develop a point of view since the socials and politics problems ; all this was very strange, but at the same time it was enjoyable. I do not know why I listen this kind of music, I suppose that protest and poetic music makes me feel complete.

Feria Ch.aco

The Chilean contemporary art fair may be amazing. The fair opened on Monday October 1. The fair shows work from 30 different galleries representing 11 different countries. The fair director Elodie Fulton told ¨we expect to attract more than 50,000 people over the five days¨ . Well , I hope this is true; this is the fourth annual Chilean Contemporary Art Fair, is located at  the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center in downtown Santiago. I have to go to this fair , it will be very interesting because there is 11 different countries, representing its works .Actually I do not usually go out to museums or exhibition of art, I need to go with company because I finished in boredom . I have gone out little to museum, in general I go to fine art museum; sometimes I go to Telefonica´s building to see artworks, In December in the last year I went to exhibition of engravings of Pablo Picasso. But I never have go to the Chilean contemporary art fair, it could be a interesting experience; I do not know the works of the 11 countries that will be representing, I would like to know this  .
This fair is important to Chile because , because is the first fair of contemporary art that take places in Chile . Also is not more expensive and there is discount to students.

why did I choose to study art

Hello, today I will talk about why did I choose to study art. Everething began when I was in my fourth year of secundary, actually I did not know to study, but I had proximity in art; I studied guitar since I was ten years old and I learnt a lot. At the end of the year I began to interest in goldsmithing and I discover that in The University of Chile have this speciality .Then I make the PSU and I got the enough score to enter to this university. Well, my art inspiration came simply because I did not study a career very absolute, also since I was ten years old, I had a little artistic knowledges, this inspired me. I made this decision When I was nineteen years old in the year 2009. When I enter to the art faculty in my first year, I met a very strict theachers, who were jerk; since this point of view I was not very happy. In a moment I thing even to retire of this career, but after I changed my mind. I prefered to continue, at the end I like it. Now I specialize in goldsmithing and I am very happy . I do not know that I am going to do when I graduate, but I do not want to live out making art exhibition.  

My best holiday

Well  I have travelled to many places, but I wil never forget when I travell to south of Chile . This trip began when I was 9 yeas old in the summer, I travelled with my faher, my mother, my brother and my sister. At the beginning we arrived to Temuco, It was so rainy and the city was not so novel, but I like Villarica more than Temuco, is beautiful, in especial the volcano Villarica and the craftsmanship is very interesthing . My father bought me a ´Indio Picaro´ this toy is very funny, and also I bought one else to my cousin. Also I bought a spinning top, I did not use it; it passed four years before i learn to use it and play with my friends, it was very dificult task. Also I knew Valdivia, It was very beatiful as well, I remember that the people was very friendly and It was cold . After we arrived to Puerto Montt , actually i did not like it, It was very dirty and urban ; I remembered that there I saw a Ripley , this reminded me to Santiago. Puertto Varas it was better than Puerto Montt. Later we travelled to Chiloe, We had to use a ship to arrived there . The landscape was beautiful and amazing and the lake too. I liked this yourney because I learnt so much of chilean culture , such as the spinnin top. The landscape is awesome, the flora and fauna is beutiful as well. Also the people do not get stress as in Santiago

A country i would like to visit

Hi everybody, today i will talk about the countries what i would like to visit . I have travelled to two countries: Argentina and Cuba .
I liked so much Argentina, because the culture is cheap; such as music and the books. Also the public transport is very cheap , the ticket cost one argentinian peso , this price is equivalent to 125 (one hundred and twenty five) chilean pesos. The food is abundant as well, for example : the meat and the past .
Maybe argentinian people is a little pedantic, but that is their culture and make them autenthic. I would like visit this country again.
Cuba is a wonderfull country as well , the people is very friendly, the food is too much abundant . In cuba the daily life is not accelerated . For example : there are not supermarket , neither traffic jams. Almost everybody walks.
Actually I would like to travel for the south of my country as well ;such as , the southern area.

first semester

Hello, today i will talk about the first semester in the year 2012 in my third year of career.
Well ...... It was a strange semester, because i recently finished my exams of last semester in my second year , then i did not  prevews holidays , it was complicated. Althought this last semester was quiet, in other words, there was not many strikes. Now I remember that my class of english, began at six o'clock  and ended at eight o´clock . I disliked finish the class in that hour, also i arrived very late to my house ........ about 10:00 or 10:30 PM .
But there was a good think, the teacher had a good disposition to teach classes . I did not have problems with any subject , because the schedules were suitables, the class began early. Finally pass all my subjects and that make me happy . I hope that this second semester will be better.

Art

Today I will talk about art, I love art, art is important for me because it is another form of expression, it is fun and you can develop manual abilities.

When I was kid I wasn’t interested in art, I liked soccer and Colo Colo .After I discovered the band ´´Queen´´ I began to develop a liking for music.

I actually never liked to visit art museums. Although I don’t like art museums I love art. My best artistic ability is the work with metal.

I have never participated in any art competition. I believe they are not the way to show how good we are.

I have never been jealous of someone else´s artwork but I would like to paint like Picasso and Dalí.

I actually consider myself ignorant in modern art, but I don’t have problems with knowing about new artworks.

I am not enthusiastic about graffiti, but I consider it a new form of art and innovative.

I don’t have a favorite artist but I like the artwork of Pablo Picasso, Vladimir Tatlin and Naum Gabo.

I don´t have a favorite work of art, because it is very difficult to choose since there so many.

Vladimir Tatlin

The person who I admire is Vladimir Tatlin. He was born in  December 28^th 1885 in Jarkov. Tatlin is a Russian artist. He worked in the area of painting, sculpture and architecture.

In 1914 Vladimir Tatlin founded the Russian Constructivism. In 1920 Tatlin partnered up with Anton Pevsner, Naum Gabo and Alexander Rodchenko.

When Tatlin travelled to Paris, he met Pablo Picasso and he participated in various artistic movements, such as futurism and construtivism.

Tatlin died in May 31^st  1953 in Moscow.

Tatlin also has done artworks and proyects with a massive style, such as ´´Monument to the Third International´´ and ´´Shujov Tower´´.

´´Monument to the Third International´´ was never built, Tatlin only did models , because the Russian civil war produced a lack of materials what prevented the final construction . The tower was going to measure 400 meters in hight, with a spiral shaped structure, overturned sideways, would have three structures in glass with different shapes: a cylinder, a cone, and a cube this forms would rotate at different speeds.

I like Vladimir Tatlin , because he developed a new language to the modern sculpture and he was very creative with his artworks.

Pets

I have 5 pets, they are dogs, two of them are a couple of white poodles, and their names are Lulu and Dolly. The third dog is also a poodle breed, its color is brown, and I call it Chascon .The other dog is an English bulldog, its name is Dynamo. And the last dog is a mixed breed, its name is Rusia.

I believe that the best pets are dogs, because they are reliable and they have a great heart.

I don’t believe that is right to keep wilds animals in a zoo, because is bad and terrible. The wild animals need a huge space to live.

I don’t know what to say, whether people should buy or wear fur coats or not. But the people who defend animals shouldn’t buy or wear these coats, because they shouldn’t be inconsistent with their doctrine or moral.

Once, I was bitten by a dog when I was 10 years old.  After I went to the doctor and had to get a vaccine in my stomach. That was not a good experience.

I don’t believe that the dogs should be banned. But we have to learn how to educate them correctly. Perhaps other wild dogs should be muzzled, as long as we cannot control.

If I could be an animal I would be a chameleon, because I would like to hunt using a large tongue. And I would like to move my eyes in independent form.

Photography

I am not very enthusiastic about photography, but I like it, it is a beautiful artistic work and it requires hard work. I like the photography in black and white mainly, because I took a photography course and I learn a lot.

My photo that I will describe is a photo of me and my brother on the beach. I am jumping with a very funny pose and my brother is standing still with his arms folded. This photo was taken by my father.

The photo was taken the year 2005, in the summer when I was 16 or 15 years old and my brother was 19. I like it this photo so much, because it reminds me of a time when I was very happy with my family, moreover this is funny photograph. Also, in that time my brother and I had long air, and now none of us have long hair any more.

Films

´´ Cinema is definite not my favorite hobbie’’

I seldom go to the cinema and I do not have a favorite genre of movies, but I like movies with social content.

My all- time favorite movie is probably: ´´The Passion of Christ.´´

The film is about hard life of Jesus. Also the movie represents the fears of Jesus and it stars Jim Caviezel, an American actor.

I like this movie because it reflects the suffering and sacrifice of an innocent person and portrays the evilness of a Jewish town.

I have probably seen the movie five or six times, because I like it so much and it does not bore me.

So I recommend this movie because I believe that it teaches a little of religion and reflects the last moments of the life of Jesus. But this movie has to be seen from a theological point of view.

Another movie that I would like to see again is ´´Blood Diamond, because I believe that this movie explains the social situation of African countrie’s, mainly the country Sierra Leona.

My Computer

My favorite piece of technology is my computer .Despite the fact that I am not fond of technology I love my computer, without it I couldn´t listen to music and download it. Also I couldn´t do my class assignments. My computer is an ´´HP´´ and it is black, with a great widescreen.

I have had my computer since I was fourteen years old, it was an ´´Olidata´´, but I changed it because it was infected by a virus. When it was my twenty first birthday, my parents bought me a new computer, this is my ´´HP´´ with windows 7 .I am very thankful to them for it.

I use my computer to do my homework, so I need to use programs like Word, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere. These programs are too heavy to download, but my computer holds them.

I use it frequently, because I also use it to download music, videos and to watch videos in YouTube. Also I use it to send e-mails.

I like my computer because I like its color, and because it allows me to download programs, files, music, photos, etcetera; without taking a long time.

Without my computer, my life would be more difficult, I couldn’t  do my homework, and also I couldn’t be able to use internet and access, very important things for me, every time that I need to found out something I don´t know.   

Music

Music is very important to me, because without music i can not play guitar, all the things work with music, because without music we can not live, the world will be boring.

I like the metal music, or rock. But I actually do not have favorite style.

There is a style of music that i dislike; which is techno, because I don’t like its rhythms and its sounds.

I have downloaded music from the internet. I know that downloading music is illegal, but i buy music when I can.

I have about 300 songs in my computer, and probably my favorites songs are Silvio Rodriguez´s .

Al so I have bought cd´s because I have respect to musicians and singers I have about 40 cd´s. for example: Metallica, Nirvana, Vicente Amigo, Rush, Silvio Rodriguez.

My firsts songs that I learned were children’s songs such as ´´caballito blanco´´and ´´los pollitos dicen´´. I learned these songs at school when I was 5 years old.

 If I were a song I would be the song ´´Tu Nombre Me Sabe a Hierba ´´by Joan Manuel Serrat , because it is a beautiful song

I know how to play guitar and I can read music because I have had guitar lessons since I was 10 years old

I like singing karaoke when I go to a party .It makes me happy, also I like to sing in the shower, it’s very fun

The world without music would be boring, with few entertainment. According to Nietzsche ´´…without music we can not live…´´

The cultures express their poetry with music and the music gives the people energy and entertainment  

my autobiography

hello I am benjamin , i am twenty two years old and i was born in santiago.I live in Santiago, but i grew in diferentes places of chile , for example :Los andes , Gran avenida, Santiago (Chiloe), and Peñalolen.I went to the school ´Giordano Bruno´ and after i was in the school ´colegio Waldorf de Santiago´, in this school i had friends that i still have friendship  . Now i am studing art in the University of Chile, i am currently in my third year, and this school is very demanding. i have two brothers , one sister and i am the second oldest . I have few hobbies but i practice them , my first hobbie is to play guitar ,i have been play acoustic guitar since i was ten years old . Also i like to draw, i made many draws , about ten draws daily . Also i like to sleep in the afternoon.
